Fine wine prices have shown lower volatility of returns than equities, gold and oil. Long run comparisons also show that fine wine prices have either no correlation or a weak negative correlation to equities, although along with many assets they show some positive correlation in extreme market conditions. Every investment portfolio should have at least one or two investments that exhibit these characteristics. An investment in wine does exactly this: it offers wonderful potential for profitable returns with lower volatility than many other investments.
